C block: Vocab unit 1 quiz.  Read literary criticism on The Namesake & Overcoat.  Returned to last week's conversation about Gogol's romantic relationships (covered Ruth & Maxine) & their significance in his development.
Homework: Summer reading test Wednesday.

D block: Vocab unit 1 quiz.  Note review -> study guide for Wednesday's test.  Preview: test format.
Homework: Summer reading test Wednesday.

E block, G block, A block: Vocab unit 1 quiz.  Continued work in Transcendentalism packet - finish Walden, read Civil Disobedience, finish any other loose ends.
Homework: Into the Wild/Transcendentalism test Monday.
